I just grew out of iMovie and am having a little trouble with FCE. I want to capture video from my Sony DV camera. In iMovie, I would click import, and it would make a new clip every time there was a cut on the original tape. I want to do the same in FCE, but can't figure out how do it. I have imported 1 clip by defining the in and out time codes but that took way to long and is impractical for doing hours of footage that way. What am I missing?

Last week, my airport express went from awesome (~80% signal strength to my iMac, great speed) to sucktacular (~5% signal strength, terrible speed, when it worked at all). An investigation revealed that a visitor had unplugged the airport, and had stuck it in a power bar between two brick power adaptors (one for the cable modem, and the other for the charging station for some wireless headphones). Obviously, the interference and shielding from those two angry spools of copper were causing the problem - a quick relocate to the original outlet restored my signal to its earlier levels. Dunno if you have the same problem, but if you do, its a quick fix :)

Your problem may have something to with your virtual Machine your using according to screenshots, which probably using up all your 3 GB installed RAM. Look as though your mac is just using 3 GB RAM instead of 6 GB RAM.

Torre should have been able to leave on his own terms and both sides handled it badly. The Yankees wanted to fire him but they wanted Torre to fall on the sward. Torre was bitter so he wrote the book. He even admitted that the book probably was a bad idea.
The Yankees are wrong to not even acknowledge what Torre did and a lot of why they started to lose was because of the teams they gave Torre to work with. I admit that It was probably time for a new leader of the team but Torre was still due respect for what he accomplished during his time there.

I also agree with the first post that this mouse is very nice with multiple bottons and accurate tracking. I boutht it at Staples and I paid $59 as they were on sales. I think other main retailors are selling at over $70.

If not, can you tell me your setup?
If it is, I'm afraid your only choice is to capture with iMovie - save everything else for FCX.
It's not all that inconvenient - exept you'll be importing non-intuitive clips names "Clip 01", "Clip 02", etc. You'll have to rename them in your browser to keep your sanity.

Apparently, a coalition of state retailers weighed in and convinced the legislature that not having to collect taxes would give Amazon an unfair sales advantage.

Hey guys. I currently have the 2009 iMac. Since last 2months ago i needed to run a program 24/7 for a big project. i checked istate today and it said that the uptime was 40 days :eek:

My thoughts exactly, I could see him dying from infection, but not in 2 hours.... There must be more to this.
Probably severed the main artery in the calf and he bled out over 2 hours. If your femoral artery gets cut you could bleed out in minutes (ever see Black Hawk Down?). The arteries below the kneecap carry less volume so 2 hours sounds plausible.

I have a 1TB WD Caviar Black drive as an external and I'm glad they put in the Seagate in mine.
My Caviar Black is fast, but it's a lot of clicking and seeking.
I also have a Caviar Green and a Caviar Blue, the green being my favorite as it's pretty silent.
I can't hear my Seagate drive at all even when transferring documents at full tilt.
I have to say, I'm used to SSDs but I think I'll be OK with this drive until Lion is released and hopeful the Intel SSD 320s drop in price and I get the nerve up to open this baby up and do some surgery... :rolleyes:

Im a recent switcher. I bought a powerbook g4 on ebay and it came without an install disk. I now want to run gcc and found that i need xcode 3.1.4. Any idea where I can get it ? preferably free.
