The perception was that he was not in charge for a few years. If he was in a mansion and not a cave he might have still have a bigger role than we thought. I don't think this will end Al Qaeda but it could slow them down for a while.

It's not a marginal increase. The Sandy Bridge 1.4Ghz ULV (expected to be in the new 11") is 40% faster than the C2D LV 1.86Ghz chip that's currently in the base 13" in some benchmarks.

maybe osx 11 can be named after whales. as each release gets more and more bloated the name would reflect that - os 11 narwhal, os 11.9 blue. not sure how marketing's going to handle sperm though.

Problem is the App Store. I don't think Apple thought about this in regards to the Mac App store having larger programs. Sure the iOS App store is easy....most apps are small.

Lastly, the Minix kernel came from Posix. So the path Posix->Minix->Linux is valid.

but who would want to have a full featured iTunes when you still haven't solved the problem of typing. The most efficient part for me is to type out what you're looking for. I do, however, see the advantage to making playlists more efficiently on the go, giving you the ability to shuffle anything you choose, not just "All Songs" which is a bother. :)Text input can be addressed in a lot of different ways. Bluetooth portable keyboards, for example. If I got a tablet, I'd also get myself a foldable keyboard to take along with me. Or you can make do with a virtual keyboard activated by gestures (2nd image):

Afterall Apple does not want you to use Windows, it only wants you to believe you could run Windows if you had to, in order to ease switcher anxiety.
Actually they want to sell you the hardware, right? Apple calls itself a hardware company that makes a bit of software on the side, rather than software company that makes hardware to sell with it, doesn't it?

Hummm... make it a little of everything.... Build in a Mac, and AppleTV with Wifi, Airplay, Blue tooth, and Thunderbolt.
Now you have a computer, a media center and a TV. Add a wireless keyboard with a build in trackpad and now I can sit on my couch and do everything. And don't forget... link in your iPad or iPhone for more fun! :)

I wasn't expecting the iMac refresh so quick. I thought it would be after the Mac OS X Lion refresh. i been saving for my first iMac but not there yet so I'll have to still wait. Perhaps I'll wait till Mac OS X Lion is pre installed in late summer. That is if I can wait that long lol

iAdware apparently works by silently installing a system library. That sounds like a vulnerability that Apple could easily fix, by requiring Admin privileges, issuing a warning, and/or prompting for an Admin password.
Seems easy for an end user to fix it himself. Simply change permision on the library so a non-admin can't write there. About four clicks and you're done with it.

If this patent is anything close to reality, Apple may be prepping something much bigger than an iPod, something closer to a full-featured OS X tablet computer. You'll be running a full-featured version of iTunes, not just the simplified UI of the iPod:

I guess I must be old school, I'm a consumer and I think about my wallet before the corporations treasure chest. Apple isn't pumping most of the profits back int the company or paying it out to shareholders. It's sitting in the bank. Or maybe they have something unimaginably huge in mind and I guess that is a possibility.
Hasn't Apple's success helped you think about your wallet? Companies are just now being able to price-match the iPad.
